TL Figgs helps community-based and faith-based nonprofits build effective and lasting programs that improve the lives of people in need.
I enjoy working with nonprofit board and staff members because I share their passion for changing the world around them. Not content to wait for someone somewhere to change things, they help MAKE the change they want to see. And MY job is to make their job easier.

My Background
I’ve worked in affordable housing and community development for more than 25 years. I managed a rent-subsidized apartment community in South Carolina before moving on to provide direct project assistance to city and county government officials in Southeast Georgia.
After moving to Maryland, I bought houses for a local Public Housing Authority before landing a job in DC. There I managed the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program, serving State CDBG directors in 48 states and Puerto Rico.
Next came 14 years at Enterprise Community Partners. Formerly The Enterprise Foundation, this national organization creates opportunities for people with modest incomes to live in decent housing and healthy communities.
My time there was a great learning experience. I went from managing $2+ million in contracts, to providing direct assistance to nonprofits across the U.S. I ended my time there in the Baltimore office, having served as interim co-director and finally as deputy director and director of Housing and Community Development.
Then in 2006, I put my experience to work in a new way, launching a consulting practice, offering organizational development services to community-based and faith-based nonprofits.
